What is Sports Massage?
Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalising those tissues. Sports Massage Therapy is a form of massage which utilises specific techniques and stretches, such as STR, Trigger point therapy, PNF Stretches, this is in order to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning with less chance of injury or pain.
Pain that can be caused by a trauma, repetitive strain (such as sitting at a desk for hours) or just strenuous physical activity, this pain can lead to soft tissue dysfunction and imbalances. Sports massage is a great way to alleviate pain, correct dysfunction and to prevent injury.
Sports massage is a great tool to help recover from pain and injuries, Most people would benefit from receiving a massage before tight muscles and muscle spasms lead to injuries. Having less tension in your body make your feel great and far less like likely to suffer an injury.
